Hello Happiness!

Hello everyone!  I wanted to share this SUPER fun new cut file with you today from the JustNick Studio store!

There are just so many possibilities for the Spacey Circle Background.  Cut it big, or cut it small.

And this file works great both with the negative cut out AND the positive cut out!

I made one cut of this file from a piece of patterned paper from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Bloom collection with lots of colors and a busy pattern.  I glued the strips to my page and stitched over them.

I wanted to highlight some of the circles, so I added a ton of circular elements to my page like enamel dots, buttons, and flair.  All of these were from my stash!

I fussy cut out the banner from a piece of patterned paper and popped it off the page. And of course I splattered some mists around here and there, too!

Thanks for stopping by and stay scrappy my friends!

Impromptu Log Cabin quilt....

I've been living behind my sewing machine lately, trying to dig into my stash and work on all the quilt-a-longs I'm participating in!

I ordered these jelly roll strips of Anna Maria Horner Honor Roll on Sale from Southern Fabric for really cheap!  They were sitting on my ironing board, and I just opened them up and started sewing them to some 1.5" strips of low volume from my stash to make a "curved" log cabin block.  I would chain piece as much as possible and then cut the strips after they were sewed.

(cat inspection.....it passed)

They just kept growing and growing, but I like big blocks and I can not lie.....  they are about 17.5" finished.

(2nd inspection)

As I write this, quilt top is FINISHED, backing fabric has arrived, and now just to quilt it...

Guest Designing for My Creative Scrapbook!

I'm so excited to share that I am guest design for My Creative Scrapbook this month!!!

There are lots of different styles of kits to choose from each month.  I will be working with the Main Kits, and The February Main kit is just AMAZING!  See for yourself:

And here are a few of the projects I made with the kit:

First up, this page of a selfie of my mom and dad.  Charlotte always asks them to send her a picture on the phone so she can "see your face, Grandma!"   So this is one that they took one morning and sent.  It is just so cute!

Believe it or not, all the papers on this page (except for the black and white polka dot background paper) came from ONE piece of paper.  The paper is covered with little washi-sized strips and is perfect for cutting apart and layering!

The wood veneer from Crate Paper Hello Love has some great phrases and designs and are a bit on the bigger size, which is perfect for titles!  And my favorite this about all AC lines are the ephemera packs!  Just layer em' up with pop dots and they add so much oomph!

And finally, here is a quick little card I made with some more die cuts and a few of the stickers from the We R Memory Keeps "Crush" line.  I used some alpha stamps from my stash!

Love Your Friends!- JustNick Studio

Love is in the air!  "Love Moments" don't just happen in February...there are tons of little "love" moments throughout the year that are so important to capture, like this one of my daughter and her close friend reading a book together.

I used the Script Phrases cut file to cut out the "Love This Moment" title.  I love the little swirls at the beginning and end of the phrase!

And to frame my photo, I used the "Infinity Heart" file to cut out a white heart frame.  Then I added some faux stitching, and some paper and chipboard hearts.

And here are some of the bits that I added to the page:

Hope you are enjoying all the new and wonderful "love" files in the store!
